Saturday, April 3: Feature Performance at Virtual Open Mic
For the past year (!?) during this pandemic Todd Harrison and Virginia Dimoglou have been hosting a Zoom open stage on Saturday nights, greatly increasing a sense of community for the dozen or so regulars who “go”. A while ago they started having feature performers the first Saturday of every month, and Todd kindly asked if I would be the feature performer for April, so Saturday, April 3 I will be playing four songs (vs the usual two).
We are raising money this Saturday, April 3 for Encampment Support Network. Throughout the pandemic ESN has been doing amazing work advocating for and assisting people living in encampments in Toronto. This is particularly important right now because the City of Toronto is currently trying to evict everyone living in the encampments by April 6.
Everyone is welcome to come and listen and if you like get on the wheel (the wheel randomly selects who will play next) and play a song. The open stage runs from 8 pm – 10 pm.
